Our challenge is to discover it, care for it and share it. Monday, April 16, 2007 7 pm – 9 pm Theme: “Resurrection: The Experience that Changes Everything.” Centuries before the “Governator” told us “I’ll be back” Jesus did. Jonathan Lace will help us explore what it means to be considered “Easter People” and the relevance and implications this reality has for us today. Monday, April 23, 2007 7 pm – 9 pm Theme: “When Bad things Happen to Good People: Discovering Meaning Behind Suffering.” Everything that Jesus said and did was intended to teach us something. Christina Baez will assist us in understanding moments of Calvary and suffering in our lives. Speaker, Christina Baez, has been working in full time ministry with young people at Saint James Parish in Basking Ridge for four years. She has a degree in Theology and Religious Studies from the Franciscan University at Steubenville, Ohio. Monday, April 23, 2007 7 pm – 9 pm Theme: “ Living on a Prayer: What Does the Church Teach about Prayer in our Lives?” Michael Dalessio is no stranger to a life of prayer and service. Michael will offer us an overview and summary of what the popes and bishops of the world have been teaching the faithful about the role of prayer for our lives. Speaker: Michael Dalessio M.S.W., has a Masters Degree in Social Work and an undergraduate degree in Philosophy. He has been serving others and the church in various ways for many years. He has been a graduate bible study facilitator in the UK, is an associate to the Brotherhood of Hope, is a Past Grand Knight in the K of C, and has served on parish pre-cana teams and youth ministry councils for years. He has also served two years as service director for Glenmary Home Missioners in Kentucky. Wednesday, April 18, 2007 7 pm – 9:30 pm Theme: “Why Rome is our Home” Relying on Scripture, Apostolic Tradition, and Church Teaching in our Contemporary World.” Speakers: Annmarie and Carmen Zullo. Annmarie and Carmen are professed members of the Brothers and Sisters of Charity. Annmarie is currently working on a Master’s Degree in Theology and Carmen has had a music ministry for the past 15 years. Thursday, April 19, 2007 7 pm – 9 pm Theme: “Life Choices: How do I make effective decisions that will bring peace and joy?” Where is God guiding me on the adventure of life? For years Fr. Randy Vashon has been mentoring people as they journey through making important decisions about God’s plan for them. Come out and listen! Speaker, Fr. Randy Vashon, has been an ordained priest for seven years. He has held assignments throughout the diocese including such roles as parochial vicar at Saint Joseph Parish in Bound Brook and Saint Thomas Parish in Old Bridge. His currently serves as Director of the Office of Vocations for the Diocese of Metuchen. Wednesday, April 25, 2007 7 pm – 9:30 pm Theme: “Faithful Citizenship: A guide to Voting with a Conscience.” Speaker: Sarah Holst is the Director of Youth Ministry at the Church of St. Jude, Blairstown, NJ. Thursday, April 26, 2007 7 pm – 9 pm Theme “I’m Not Good Enough: Dealing with the Pressure to be Perfect.” Who do we allow to define what our life should be like? Is it really necessary to keep up with the neighbors? Can I still live a happy and fulfilling life as a child of God without allowing mass media or others to control my expectations? If God created me and loves me as I am, why do I sometimes struggle to love myself? Through her humble self reflection Lidia D’Armiento understands that this is an important message for people to hear if we are to live in the freedom, peace, and joy God wants for us. Speaker, Lidia D’Armiento, is graduate student and a full time a school teacher in Basking Ridge. She has been serving in volunteer ministry in various capacities in Saint Luke Parish in North Plainfield for 20 years. She has also served as a retreat presenter for the Diocese of Metuchen for several years. Thursday, May 3, 2007 7 pm – 9 pm Theme: “Spirituality for Busy People” We are busy people who live in a fast paced world today. Christine will help us examine ways we can nourish our souls without falling behind. Speaker, Christine Dalessio, is a Catholic writer whose work appears in several publications such as Guideposts , Group Magazine, and Devosine, She also writes for Realfaith TV. Christine also serves as a full time Pastoral Associate for Youth Ministry at Saint Bernard Parish in Bridgewater. Saturday, May 5 , 2007 10 am - 8 pm Keynote Speaker: Theology on Tap worldwide founder, Fr. John Cusick, from the Archdiocese of Chicago.
